Dreaming of a doctorate

Some dreams take almost 13 years before the path becomes clearer.

On 3 December 2013, I wrote down my life goals in a GAINS Worksheet during a BNI programme. I recorded my business, interests, networks, skills and things I wanted to do in the future.

I had not explicitly written “a doctorate” that day. But I had long wanted to turn my experience of running a business into knowledge that could help other entrepreneurs.

By 21 October 2026, I had begun my journey as a doctoral student and was developing my own franchise research framework. My experience in the drinking-water plant business led me to explore fairness, trust, commitment, loyalty and the success of franchise entrepreneurs.

Along the way, I want to make this knowledge easier to access and apply. 7 STEP AI TO BUSINESS reflects an approach I value: begin with a real problem, set a clear goal, experiment, verify and measure the results, with someone accountable for what is put into practice.

Today, I am still a student with much to learn, many research papers to read and ideas to reconsider. Yet every time I take action, I understand more clearly whom I want this knowledge to help, and how.

I may not have reached the destination, but I have started walking…

Dreams become meaningful when we turn what we write into action.
